Kiribati 13 billion energy storage project

Through the installation of a solar photovoltaic and a battery energy storage system (BESS) and capacity building, the project will help the Government of Kiribati (i) expand access to clean energy; (ii) improve the reliability and climate resilience of service; (iii) reduce reliance on fossil fuels for power generation; (iv) reduce greenhouse gas emissions; (v) reduce the cost of power generation; and (vi) improve the capacity of energy sector stakeholders. Ulaanbaatar Energy Storage Construction Project

The construction of a 50 MW/200 MWh Battery Storage Power Station on a 5-hectare area built upon the “Baganuur” substation in the Baganuur district of Ulaanbaatar is progressing successfully.On October 5, 2024, Prime Minister of Mongolia Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai visited the Battery Storage Power Station, a project implemented by the Governor’s Office of Ulaanbaatar as part of the Government of Mongolia’s energy reform. Sunny Power signed a 650MW PV project in Brazil in 2022, and also signed a 500MW distribution agreement with Brazil's SOL+Distribuidora last year.On January 12, BYD and Spain's Grenergy reached a procurement agreement for a 1.1GWh energy storage system for the world's largest energy storage project, the 4.1GWh energy storage project in Chile's Atacama Oasis, supplying it with 2,136 Magic Cubes.
